Meals on Wheels focuses on caring for individuals whose diminished mobility makes it hard to shop for food, prepare meals or socialize with others. Generally programs serve adults 60 and over, although age requirements can vary by program and areas served.

Senior Connect, formerly Kaufman County Senior Citizens Services, has been operating Meals on Wheels throughout the county since 1978. They currently have five congregate meal sites and senior centers in Forney, Terrell, Kaufman, Kemp and Mabank that will reopen this summer.

Meals on Wheels is a program that delivers meals to individuals at home who are unable to purchase or prepare their own meals. The name is often used generically to refer to home-delivered meals programs, not all of which are actually named "Meals on Wheels".

Those aged 60 years and older are eligible to receive Meals on Wheels. Those younger than 60 but homebound and unable to provide nutritious meals for themselves also qualify for the program. Caregivers and spouses of recipients are also eligible.

Meals on Wheels provides nutritious and delicious home-delivered meals in the Minneapolis area. Convenient delivery offers independence for those we serve.
