Actor Terence Stamp, best known for his role as megalomaniac General Zod in the 1977 film Superman, has died aged 87. The London-born actor shot to fame in the 1960s and later counted Princess Diana as a friend. He revived his career in the 1970s and later held roles in The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and in Valkyrie.
