A sinkhole opened up on I-80 in New Jersey Monday morning, causing the roadway to partially shut down, according to the state's Department of Transportation.

NJDOT is on the scene investigating after a depression was spotted in the roadway just weeks after a massive sinkhole was repaired.

I-80 Eastbound is closed for emergency sinkhole repairs in Wharton, Morris County, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said.

This morning at approximately 6:45 a.m., a depression in the center lane of I-80 eastbound was observed, leading to the closure of the highway.
