On July 28, the head of HBO's drama series and films department confirmed the fourth season while praising Downton Abbey's Julian Fellowes for creating another prime example of “'can't-miss it' entertainment," this time set in 1880s New York and starring the likes of Carrie Coon, Christine Baranski, Audra McDonald, and Cynthia Nixon.

Even though The Gilded Age Season 3 has yet to complete its run, HBO has shared an update on Season 4. The historical drama, which made its television debut back in 2022, has so far released six episodes from the eight-episode roster of its ongoing third installment.

HBO has officially greenlit The Gilded Age season 4, two weeks ahead of the season 3 finale, as per a report from Variety dated July 28, 2025.
