New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo confirmed the decision to waive wide receiver K. J. Osborn was a mutual one, when speaking with media members on Wednesday.

The Patriots used Osborn’s vacated roster spot to activate Cole Strange from injured reserve. The 2022 first-rounder has been out all season with a torn patellar tendon, and Mayo didn’t voice a firm role for him this weekend in Arizona, but did hope he’d be active.

Quite a few decisions will need to be made, including about the future of head coach Jerod Mayo. After being selected to take over the reigns from Bill Belichick, Mayo has struggled through his first year as a head coach.
