SOUTH BEND — A 10-game winning streak for Notre Dame football has essentially secured a first-round home game in the inaugural 12-team version of the College Football Playoff. But could the Irish climb even further while resting at home this weekend?

College football's regular season has concluded but plenty remains to be learned from conference championship weekend before the College Football Playoff reveals the bracket for the inagural 12-team tournament on Sunday.

Notre Dame continues to move up the College Football Playoff rankings after its 49-35 win over USC. The Irish also benefited from Ohio State losing at home to Michigan this weekend. Notre Dame was 10th in the first rankings release but continues to rise as they continue to win.
