The Guadalupe River set a new all-time high in Hunt, Texas, this weekend after deadly floods inundated the region.

Texas Hill Country, where much of the flooding took place this time, is often referred to as “flash flood alley.” It's home to steep terrain and a lack of vegetation that creates a perfect storm for waters to rise quickly.

Central Texas was ravaged by floods over the July 4th weekend leading to deaths, including children at Camp Mystic, an all-girls summer camp.
