The defense lawyers for Idaho murders suspect Bryan Kohberger are optimistic that newly uncovered DNA evidence will help prove his innocence.

In the bed of one of the stabbing victims, police said they also found what many regard as the case's key piece of evidence: a leather sheath for a fixed-blade knife.

During Kohberger’s last hearing, Taylor accused authorities of withholding information, saying police did not disclose the unidentified blood when obtaining a search warrant for Kohberger’s arrest. She argues this omission should invalidate some evidence collected during the search because it was not properly authorized.

Prosecutors have not challenged these claims, suggesting that the evidence could play a major role in Kohberger's defense.
