The same week that Prince Harry’s landmark case against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers went to trial in the U.K., the Duke of Sussex met up with firefighters and therapy dogs in Salinas, California amid the devastating Southern California wildfires.

A much anticipated trial pitting a crusading prince against a media giant ended before it began Wednesday, when Prince Harry reached a last-minute settlement with Rupert Murdoch’s British media group that included a “substantial” sum and a “full and unequivocal apology.

The Duke of Sussex has not yet flown over to the UK to appear in person at the trial, in his legal action against the publishers of The Sun.
