Despite the frigid temperatures so far this winter, the amount of snowfall in Minnesota is still significantly below average.

Eastbound winds are expected to bring more snow through Saturday afternoon, with an additional inch or two possible for western Wisconsin.

While it won't be a total bust, the chances of double-digit snow totals have vanished. With that, the National Weather Service has canceled the winter storm watch and replaced it with a winter weather advisory, signaling expected lower snow totals. Snow will continue to fall Saturday morning following overnight flurries, giving way to a dry and cold rest of the weekend.

A winter storm that arrived in Minnesota late Friday and continued through much of Saturday dropped up to 9 inches of snow in the state. As the totals are tallied on Sunday, the leader so far is the 9 inches that fell in Mora, Kanabec County, while 8 inches fell in the Anoka County cities of Andover and Ham Lake.
