Profiles can also include character and leadership traits like gratitude, optimism, and self control or student work products, like a “personal best” portfolio.

While all of the traits outlined above are important to teaching in a learner-centered school, committing to professional and personal growth is probably the most important. No two days look the same.

A recent report recommended all students leave school with a learner profile. This will capture their academic results, as well as other achievements like extracurricular activities.

Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, the Evergreen School District Leadership Team and Evergreen School District Community Council developed our Learner Profile.

The learner profile should form the basis of a digital education passport, which students could continue to curate into adulthood by adding new qualifications or experience, the review suggested.
