Former Kansas Jayhawks defensive lineman Gage Keys is returning to KU for his final season after playing one season with the Auburn Tigers. “My fault y’all … I was TRIPPIN !“ Keys wrote on X/Twitter.

The Kansas State football team will be without nearly a dozen players when it takes on Rutgers at the Rate Bowl later this month. Two more K-State football players have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal. Carver Willis and Tre Spivey are the two most recent departures.

The Rate Bowl could offer valuable chances to several young Rutgers football players hoping to make an impression heading into the offseason and 2025.

Rutgers football is headed to Phoenix to play Kansas State in the Rate Bowl on Dec. 26 at Chase Field. It’s the second-straight bowl appearance for the Scarlet Knights, who earned bowl eligibility after going 7-5 during the regular season in their best campaign in a decade.

Athan Kaliakmanis led the Scarlet Knights with 2,459 passing yards this season. Kyle Monangai rushed for 1,279 yards and 13 touchdowns out of the backfield. Linebacker Dariel Djabome led the defense with 102 tackles. Rutgers won its only meeting against Kansas State 37-10 at the 2006 Texas Bowl.

Rutgers is set to take on Kansas State in the Rate Bowl on Dec. 26 in Phoenix. Both sides will get a chance to play one final game and earn a victory during bowl season. For Rutgers, this would be its second straight win in the postseason.
