A 38-year-old man was stabbed to death Friday morning in a lower Manhattan subway station that appears to have started when another straphanger stepped on his shoes, police said.

A man was stabbed at the Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall subway station Friday morning. Police say the victim, who is in his 40s, was stabbed while on the southbound platform at around 8:45 a.m. The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition.
