AccuWeather said a system moving across the US could become the biggest severe weather and tornado event of the year so far.

The FOX Forecast Center is continuing to monitor the potential for a multiday severe weather outbreak across the eastern U.S. later this week. FOX Weather Meteorologists Britta Merwin and Craig Herrera break down the latest forecast.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Dry, breezy and warm conditions are expected Wednesday with high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 70s.

The forecast comes days after an expansive storm similarly trekked across the U.S. last week, unloading snow in the northern Plains and bringing tornadoes and wildfires to the South. At least five storm-related deaths in Nebraska and Mississippi were tied to that storm.

A powerful storm system is forecast to sweep across the region this weekend. Possible impacts include tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and heavy rain.
