A majority of New Yorkers want to replace Kathy Hochul as governor in 2026, even as a greater number approve of her job performance and hold a favorable view of her compared to a couple of months ago,

But Hochul also continued to climb from record-low numbers recorded by Siena in September, when her favorability had fallen to 34%.

A new poll from the Siena College Research Institute finds relatively bad news for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul: just a third of voters said they would re-elect her, and her favorability rating is just 39 percent.
