McDaniels returns to New England for his third stint with the franchise, this time to work with talented young quarterback Drake Maye.

WEEI’s Rich Keefe said the New England Patriots hiring Josh McDaniels to come back to the organization for a third stint as their offensive coordinator is less creative than hiring former Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel as head coach.

Josh McDaniels is joining Vrabel’s coaching staff as New England’s offensive coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. A six-time Super Bowl champion as an assistant coach, McDaniels is best known as Bill Belichick’s longtime offensive playcaller.
