Mexico Beach sits on the eastern end of Bay County, bordering Gulf County. According to Shoaf, tourism is the town's largest economic driver, so its busiest months are during summer. That said, peak season crowds in Mexico Beach during summer still are nothing like those in other nearby larger destination cities like Panama City Beach.

AccuWeather forecasters are keeping an eye on an area close to Florida which shows some potential for tropical development July 15-18.

All eyes are on the Gulf this week as local weather services track a potential tropical development. There is currently a 30% chance of tropical development near the northern Gulf Coast. As of right now, the system is located just off the eastern coast of Florida.
