U.S.-based buyout fund Apollo Global Management is in talks with the owner of Atletico Madrid to take a significant stake in the Spanish top-flight side, Expansion newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Argentinian midfielder Thiago Almada has signed with Atletico Madrid after transferring from Brazilian club Botafogo. The player’s contract with the Spanish team runs until the summer of 2030.

The red and whites have reached an agreement with Botafogo for the transfer of the Argentine international, who signs for five seasons.
