SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored 1:18 into overtime and the Edmonton Oilers beat the Utah Hockey Club 4-3 on Friday night. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each tallied a goal and an assist, and Vasily Podkolzin also scored for the Oilers. Calvin Pickard stopped 28 shots.

Looks kinda strange, doesn’t it? Edmonton Oilers’ opponent looked an awful lot like the Arizona Coyotes, not an untethered orphan without so much as a name, never mind a history. They’re a brand spanking new expansion team according to the wizards running the NHL.

While Thanksgiving break seemed to help some players on the Utah Hockey Club, the same cannot be said about the overall team as they lost their first game back in action on Friday against the Edmonton Oilers.
