As temperatures rose and conditions dried over the weekend, residents of Southern California received a swift reminder of fire season as at least seven fires broke out across the Southland, according to Cal Fire.

Cooler temperatures and humidity are helping firefighters fight the fire, which nearly doubled in size since Monday afternoon.

Wolf Fire initially started 3:09 p.m. June 29 in Riverside County, California. Since its discovery 38 hours ago, it has burned 2,414 acres. A fire crew of 925 succeeded in containing 35% of the fire as of Tuesday morning. However, the cause is still being investigated.

Fire season has begun with a bang in California, where more than a dozen wildfires have ignited since Saturday — the largest of which are in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
