Viktor Gyokeres has confirmed it was an easy choice to join Arsenal despite failed late interest from Manchester United. Gyokeres has joined the Gunners on a deal worth around £64million as Mikel Arteta finally lands the the out-and-out striker his squad has sorely lacked during a five-year trophy drought.

Arsenal held an open training session at the Kai Tak Stadium on Wednesday in which Gyokeres took an active part. Around 20,000 fans attended the hour-long session to see the 27-year-old Swede in action,

New Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has admitted north London rivals Arsenal are “one of the best teams in the world”. Spurs face Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong on Thursday and Frank has acknowledged a gulf between the two clubs.
