BBC News journalist Caitríona Perry was invited out by rapper Kid Rock during a live broadcast covering Donald Trump's Inauguration Day. The awkward moment left Perry and viewers embarrassed.

“President Trump’s invitation for dinner included bringing a couple of friends. Asked why I invited Kid Rock and Ted Nugent, I joked, ‘Because Jesus was booked,’” Palin wrote in a post on her website after the visit, per the New York Times.

Kid Rock, who has been outspoken about his conservative views , was referring to his performance at the 2009 Youth Inaugural Ball , held after Barack Obama ’s first swearing-in. Kanye West and Fall Out Boy were among the other music acts at that event.
