The Toronto Blue Jays raised the ceiling of their offence by signing switch-hitter Anthony Santander to a five-year, $92.5-million contract earlier this week, finally acquiring a much-needed middle-of-the-order bat to pair with franchise cornerstone Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Outfielder Anthony Santander, who slugged 44 home runs for the Baltimore Orioles in 2024, agreed to a five-year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. That leaves Bregman, the longtime Houston Astros third baseman, as one of two impact bats remaining on the market. The other, first baseman Pete Alonso, wouldn’t be a good fit for the Tigers.
