Almost one in three people in Gaza are going days without eating, the UN's food aid programme has warned. "Malnutrition is surging with 90,000 women and children in urgent need of treatment," the World Food Programme (WFP) said in a statement to news agency AFP.

Thousands of aid trucks loaded with lifesaving food, water and medical supplies are lined up outside Gaza, and hundreds more inside the border.

Hamas says it will only release all hostages in exchange for a full Israeli withdrawal and end to the war. Israel says it will not agree to end the war until Hamas gives up power and disarms — a condition the militant group rejects.
