Alienware is joining Asus, Samsung, and MSI in making a silly “world’s first” claim — all four of them are now set to launch a genuinely exciting new wave of 27-inch 4K QD-OLED gaming monitors with an excellent 240Hz refresh rate.

Announced at CES 2025, the Swift OLED PG27UCDM is the first of its kind. Up until this time, you either picked a high resolution and lower refresh rate, or a buttery smooth framerate with a lower resolution. Now, we don’t have to make that choice anymore, and after witnessing this for myself, I’m so glad that this decision is no more.

In the budget 4K monitor land, the Sceptre U275W-UPT is the best deal by far. This monitor costs only $200 but offers an IPS panel with solid motion performance and a 70Hz refresh rate, full coverage of the sRGB color space, and a great contrast ratio for an IPS panel.

Leading the charge is the 2025 Odyssey OLED G8, which is the first 27-inch OLED monitor to have a 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160); that translates to a healthy 165 pixels per inch. The screen refreshes fast too, at a rate of 240Hz.
