A Mumbai court has issued a contempt notice against Google CEO Sundar Pichai. The notice was issued to Pichai after YouTube failed to follow a court order which directed taking down the a defamatory video titled 'Pakhandi Baba ki Kartut'.

The notice is issued after the company’s failure to comply with a court order that instructed the removal of a defamatory video titled ‘Pakhandi Baba ki Kartut’.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, has been issued a contempt notice by a Mumbai court after YouTube failed to remove a defamatory video targeting the Dhyan Foundation and its founder, Yogi Ashwini. The video, titled "Pakhandi Baba ki Kartut," has been at the centre of a legal battle since March 2022 when a court order instructed its removal.

In its defence, YouTube cited immunity under the Information Technology Act, arguing that defamation does not qualify as content that can be blocked under Section 69-A of the Act
