France's largest video game maker Ubisoft has decided to discontinue development on XDefiant, its free-to-play first-person shooter title, it said on Wednesday.As a result, Ubisoft will close its San Francisco and Osaka production studios and ramp down production in Sydney,

According to Stephen Totilo of Game File, the victims this time around are the entirety of the Osaka studio, the San Francisco production studio, and part of the Sydney production team. The news comes right after the announcement that its free-to-play hero shooter XDefiant would go the way of Concord.

Ubisoft will close down two of its global studios, one in San Francisco, USA, and the other in Osaka, Japan, as the publisher continues slashing costs.
