John Tournour, a longtime radio host known as “J.T. the Brick,” reported Wednesday night on X that Soto was spotted eating dinner with Mets owner Steve Cohen at Del Frisco’s steakhouse in New York City. He also said the “GM” was in attendance, which presumably was David Stearns, the Mets' president of baseball operations.

The New York Mets don’t appear to be in on Corbin Burnes, which could signal that Steve Cohen's focus on Juan Soto in free agency is costing his team elsewhere.

The New York Mets are going to pivot to a very expensive emergency backup plan if they fall short of signing Juan Soto in the coming days.
