Thanks to his brilliant century, Gill has now scored the most runs in ODI cricket after 50 innings, surpassing Hashim Amla. The Punjab batsman has 2,587 runs in 50 ODI innings, going past Amla’s tally of 2,486 runs in the same number of innings.

Gill has moved to second spot in the ODI batter rankings, just five rating points behind Babar (786). Meanwhile, this rise comes after his back-to-back half-centuries, (87 and 60) against England. Meanwhile, Indian captain Sharma is just 13 rating points behind Babar, a jump propelled by his brilliant century in Cuttack.
