The shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. at the Cumberland Crossing Apartments on Rio Vista Drive. Police said an armed man emerged from a stolen sedan when the detectives confronted him. The man was wounded with a gun in hand.

Man shot by Metro officers in Madison

The 20-year-old man emerged from a reportedly stolen car with a gun in hand when police confronted him outside a Madison apartment, MNPD said.

One man is in the hospital after being shot by two Metro detectives Tuesday night. According to police, the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. in Madison.
