Rohingya refugees in overcrowded camps in Bangladesh are worried about hunger and malnutrition after the UN warned of cuts to food rations due to a funding shortage.

Rohingya refugees in crammed Bangladeshi camps say they are worried about a U.S. decision to cut food rations by half beginning next month, while a refugee official says the reduction will impact the nutrition of more than 1 million refugees and create social and mental pressure.

Now, the $6 monthly voucher means Rohingya refugees will receive about 24 Bangladesh taka (£0.15) daily. An egg costs 13-14 taka and a banana costs 10-12 taka, Mr Rahman said, adding that it will cause severe nutritional deficiency among refugees.
