Three Aurora Township races featuring Democrats were on the ballot, so only Democratic voters who live in the township could vote in these primaries.

Aurora’s incumbent Mayor Richard Irvin is facing four challengers in Tuesday’s primary. Cicero Mayor Lary Dominick is being challenged by Esteban Rodriguez. Embattled Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard faces Dolton Trustee Jason House.

It’s a winner takes all election for Urbana. With no Republican challenger, whoever comes out on top in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary will be the next mayor. Democrats DeShawn Williams and Annie Adams are facing off for the job.

The results for Urbana’s mayoral primary election are in with 100% of precincts reporting. Unofficial results show that DeShawn Williams is the predicted winner with 65.76% of the vote, and 2,508 cast total.
