Winter weather helped to excite participants of the 24th annual Rochester Polar Plunge, as more than 900 participants gathered to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota.

Kayla Kubik, SOMI events/development and LETR coordinator, said over 275 participants registered to brave the “Plungester” tank at the ballpark this year.

The Eugene Polar Plunge is an annual event that raises money for Special Olympics Oregon. Special Olympics Oregon provides opportunities for athletes to compete at local, regional and statewide levels. The fundraiser supports over 5,000 athletes in Special Olympics across Oregon.
