San Diegans marched and chanted and hoisted signs deriding President Donald Trump over an immigration plan they called cruel and chaotic

On Saturday, June 14, thousands of Americans hit the streets for “No Kings” protests, including in San Diego County.

Tens of thousands of local residents are expected to take to the streets Saturday for No Kings Day, a nationwide protest of President Trump.

Opponents of President Donald Trump’s administration are set to rally in hundreds of cities — including several in San Diego County — on Saturday.

The demonstrations come on the heels of protests flaring up around the country over federal immigration enforcement raids that began last week and Trump ordering National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles where protesters blocked a freeway and set cars on fire.

Thousands peacefully gathered at Civic Center and Waterfront Park, joining "No Kings" events across the region and the U.S.

“Our country is a republic. Our country has no kings and judging from the policies and the actions coming out of the White House and from the President, that does not actually tell us that he's acting as a king, and people are just tired of it, and they wanted to speak out,” No Kings Carlsbad Protest Organizer, Kathy Minton said.
