Hurricane Barbara has formed in the Pacific as the first hurricane in 2025. The National Hurricane Center is also tracking Tropical Storm Cosme.

Tropical Storm Dalila formed in the North Pacific Ocean Friday morning Mexico Central Time, according to the National Hurricane Center. The tropical storm had sustained wind speeds of 40 miles per hour.

Atlantic hurricane season, which experts have warned is likely to have an above-average number of storms, has gotten off to a quiet start. Eastern Pacific, where hurricane season began on May 15 and where storms typically form before they do in the Atlantic,
