The Los Angeles Chargers could end up losing Khalil Mack in free agency soon. That became one of the next possible outcomes as soon as the Chargers learned that Mack wouldn’t be retiring. The superstar pass-rusher will return in 2025 and on the open market could command some staggering money,

Edge defender Khalil Mack has been a key member of the Chargers for the past few seasons. However, he is set to become a free agent, so it remains unknown whether he will be part of the team this upcoming season.

The Los Angeles Chargers may be faced with the possibility of not having Khalil Mack or Joey Bosa in the 2025 season. The team has the cap space to add reinforcements and one of the top options on this year's market just won a Super Bowl.

Not ideal. Those Chargers are flush with cap space, sitting on roughly $63.4 million before any other cap-saving moves. The most obvious has direct ties to Mack – parting ways with Joey Bosa would free up roughly $25 million more, which the Chargers could shift over to Mack.

Khalil Mack‘s career will include at least one more season, but it remains to be seen where he will play in 2025. The former Defensive Player of the Year is on track for his first trip to free agency.

Over the course of his career, Mack has earned roughly $170 million dollars on NFL contracts and projects at around a $24 million-per-year average as a free agent. If one last big payout is a top goal for Mack, the Chargers happen to have roughly $65.6 million in free cap space before any other cap-saving moves, such as moving on from Joey Bosa.
