Firefighters rushed to put out the flames from the Juniper Fire in Riverside County Monday as the brush fire, fanned by high winds, grew to burn nearly 700 acres within hours. The fire was reported at around 11: 28 a.m. in the area of Ann Way and Juniper Road in the Mead Valley community near Perris.

A quickly growing fire in Riverside County torched more than 500 acres of land and prompted evacuation orders on Monday, according to authorities. Dubbed the Juniper Fire, it was initially reported at 11:28 a.m. in unincorporated parts of Perris, near the area of Idaleona and Juniper roads, Cal Fire said .
