The U.S. Coast Guard says it’s searching for five people after a fishing boat reportedly capsized in rough weather and cold seas southwest of Alaska's capital city of Juneau.

The U.S. Coast Guard and good Samaritans, including a state ferry crew, were searching Sunday for multiple missing people who were aboard a commercial fishing boat that capsized in Icy Strait southwest of Juneau.

A search is ongoing Sunday for five people who were aboard a fishing boat that reportedly capsized near Point Couverden, located at the western entrance of Lynn Canal southwest of Juneau, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Responders faced heavy snow, winds up to 60 mph and 6’ seas, with part of the region, which is located in the Gulf of Alaska, under a winter storm warning. As of Monday morning, none of the missing crewmembers have been found.
