Rookie Chandler Simpson raced home to score the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning and had his first three-hit game for the Tampa Bay Rays, who beat the San Diego Padres 4-2 on Sunday for their first sweep of the season.

The 4-2 win completed a sweep of the Padres; extended the Rays’ winning streak to five, their longest in nearly a year; and got them back to .500 for the first time since mid-April. Zack Littell, after deserving better in several outings on the way to an 0-5 start, earned his first win, allowing the two runs over five innings.

Taylor Walls homered Sunday and Zack Littell got his first win after five straight losses as the visiting Tampa Bay Rays completed a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres with a 4-2 decision.
