Idyllic Caribbean beach with a single palm tree in Montego Bay, Jamaica Low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines is expanding flights from North Carolina, including adding two new international routes to Jamaica and the Dominican Republic from the Raleigh-Durham area.

Avelo Airlines has announced it will be bringing more routes and more jobs to the Charlotte-Concord Airport. The airline said it is significantly expanding at the airport with a new base. That base will include two new aircraft and two new nonstop routes to Daytona Beach, Florida, and Nashville, Tennessee.

Avelo Airlines is expanding its service with a new destination available from Central Florida. The Houston-based airline will launch service on April 3 to Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport from Daytona Beach International Airport. The new service comes as Avelo launched service in Daytona last year.

Avelo Airlines unveiled three new destinations flying out of Wilmington International Airport during a Wednesday announcement.

The base at Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) will be the first of the two to be opened. Starting on March 6, 2025, Avelo will base one plane at USA and a second will be added the following month. Wilmington International Airport (ILM) will also be launched with one aircraft.

The airline also announced plans to create up to 50 new jobs by basing two new Boeing 737 aircraft at the Concord airport. Some of the roles include customer service, flight attendants, pilots, technical operations, maintenance and supervisors. Avelo Airlines continues expanding its service out of the Wilmington Airport (ILG). The company announced Wednesday, Dec. 4, that it will again offer nonstop service from ILG to Nashville International Airport (BNA).

The Daytona Beach route will launch on April 3, while the Nashville flight will begin the following day. Both will fly twice a week. After those launch, Avelo will have nine nonstop routes out of Concord. One-way fares there begin at $44.

Avelo Airlines announced Dec. 4 they are establishing ILM as a new base. This will let them significantly expand air service the airline introduced in Wilmington in June 2022. Andrew Levy, Avelo Airlines founder and CEO, said in a statement the 11 nonstop destinations is just the beginning.
