Health Minister Andrew Gwynne has been sacked and has apologised for offence caused by "badly misjudged" messages on WhatsApp. The Mail on Sunday reported the MP for Gorton and Denton had sent a string of offensive and abusive messages, insulting constituents, fellow MPs and councillors.

A Labour spokesperson told the M.E.N.: "Andrew Gwynne has been administratively suspended as a member of the Labour Party, We are investigating comments made in this WhatsApp group in line with the Labour Party's rules and procedures.
