The state of Minnesota is entering another in a long string of summer days marred by air quality alerts. Poor air quality will continue through Saturday with lingering wildfire smoke from Canada.

Dense Wildfire Smoke from Canadian Fires will continue to bring Unhealthy Air Quality to the Twin Cities and surrounding areas Today into Saturday morning then Southerly Winds Aloft will push the Smoke back north Saturday afternoon and Air Quality will be much improved Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Wildfire smoke pouring into the state from Canadian fires has triggered a red air quality alert, signaling that the air is unhealthy for anyone and everyone to breath. The alert, issued by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, is in effect until 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, for large portions of the state, including the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
