A class-action lawsuit filed in Minnesota in August accused 3M, DuPont, Corteva and Chemours of covering up the health risks of PFAS chemicals used in their carpets and rugs. Texas has previously sued the manufacturers of Aqueous Film Forming Foam, which contains PFAS chemicals, for its effects on the state’s lands and waters.

"These companies knew for decades that PFAS chemicals could cause serious harm to human health," Texas Attorney General Paxton said.
