Nice monument. Completely ruined by militant staff who seem to think they're guarding the door of Hades. If you're not a Chinese tourist, I wouldn't bother. Shame, could be so nice. Full review by MariaTheUna

Life defining experience, a must see , a bucket list location and experience. Some may argue it’s pricey and the cafe is limited in what food it offers but come on people that’s not important! Thi… Full review by Alastair B

In a few weeks I will spend the night in Amesbury and won't have a car. I was planning to go on foot to Stonehenge, since it is just 3 km, but the path would involve the A303, or so it appears. Is there a footpath alongside it perhaps?

Generally as the previous reviewer states, you can only get ablot 25 m from stones. HOWEVER, if you sign up for the Stonr Circle experience, you get to spend about 45 minutes right within the stones. You can get as close as you want as long as you don't touch them. You have to book this on their website (best to do as early as possible). They schedule these appts either early before the site opens or late after it closes to regular ticketholders. We did this last Sept in the evening and it was fantastic. Your guide can answer your questions as well. As we left the site, we could watch the moon rising over the Stones. It was magical. If you can possibly schedule this, its worth it.

I hope this makes sense but is there any advantage to purchasing a 'skip the line' ticket vs booking a standard ticket online through English Heritage? It seems you'll need to wait in a line when you arrive regardless, correct?
